Volunteer to educate your community and help your neighbors figure out how to identify and remove invasives. No experience needed!
Fairfax PRISM community representatives lead their communities in the following capacities:
Educating the community about the importance of controlling invasive plants and adding native plants
Accessing and disseminating resources for invasive plant control
Maintaining a relationship with Fairfax PRISM through reports on efforts
If able and interested, helping to coordinate invasive removal efforts and native restoration
To support you, we will provide the following:
Ideas for doing outreach to your neighbors
Networking opportunities with other community reps and invasive experts
Expertise on invasives
Planning assistance for community events
Presentations and links to resources about invasives and invasive management
Training to run an invasive removal project, if requested
Access to invasive management equipment and supplies

Area Representatives
Area Representatives help the Community Representatives collaborate with each other. They work with the Community Representatives as a team to strategize about how to reach and assist all the area’s landowners wherever invasive plants are problematic.
